Heber Springs Court House

Heber Springs Court House

This old Anti-Aircraft gun was at a VFW in a little communtity next to Heber Springs. I dont think it was actually in Heber Springs, hmmm.

Cindy gets new rubber.

I was out goofing around yesterday and found myself in Honda of Russellville. I think I went there originally to ask why Honda doesnt make a four wheeler that you can sit in, like Yamaha, Kawasaki and Polaris make (I want one).
I never did ask the question because as soon as I walked in I saw a rack of tires and it had exactly what Cindy likes, a Bridgestone Excedra G702 170/80 15mc. I've tried other tires, like Dunlop and Pirelli and none of them have given me the service of the Bridgestone. I have right at 15k on the one Cindy is wearing now. That may not seem like alot to some, but to me its great because I accelerate fast. I dont ride too fast, I just like to take off and get away from cars.
I paid $139.00 (that included taxes)and thats a great deal for the tire. When spring gets here, I'll have brand new rubber and I'll be ready to go. I can hardly wait for spring already and winter isnt even here.

A reader gave me his website to look at, its a good one. He rides a VTX1800. Take a look at http://cruzn.virtualhale.com/.

Wooster

Cool name for a town...there isnt much there though. If you follow Hwy 25 north from Conway you'll find Wooster. Hwy 25 is a nice road and makes a right at Wooster. If you keep going North you'll be on Hwy 285 which will eventually take you to Hwy 65. Not too far past Wooster is another road to the East, Hwy 225. I like all these roads, there scenic in a country, farming way and theres just enough curves to make the ride interesting.
I took some pics along the way and thats a good thing because I'm running short on digital pics. I'll eventually need to start scanning more or going out taking more. I know what I'd rather do but with the price of gas the way it is, its gonna be rough.

These three pics were taken from Hwy 285 North of Wooster.

Sorry, this pictures a little off focus, but I like the picture.

Alread and Highway 16

If you've never ridden Hwy 16 across Northern Arkansas then you have missed one of the best rides in Arkansas. The best part of it goes a long ways. I would say from Fayetteville all the way to Greers Ferry Lake is some awesome riding. If you look it up on Google Map Hybrid you'll see what I mean. Its a snakey road in places and nice smoothe curve in others. There is no shortage of fun riding and wonderful scenary through the Ozarks.
Along the way there are plenty of little towns to visit. I do mean little too, there arent any towns of any size to speak of on this road, which is one reason I like it so much. I've ridden it numerous times and never tire of it.
One of the towns along the way is Alread. I took some pictures while passing through, but I may have missed the actual old part of town. I'll have to ask someone from there. When I typed in Alread on Google Map Hybrid it shows Alread as being on Scotland Drive which is just off of Hwy 16. I'll go back and take pics again if thats the case. I have to return to alot of the areas Ive already been to anyway because of the hard drive crash I had a few years ago. That was a tough lesson learned. I back up all my pics now to CD about once a month. I lost hundreds of pics in that catastrophe, some that I wont be able to replace.

Heres a few pics from Alread and area. This is Hwy 16 passing through.

An old Alread store.

I honestly cant remember where I took this picture but it was with the Alread pics so it must have been nearby.

"Hair today, gone tomorrow"

I had no idea that Elvis Presley coined that praise. I was reading his biography today. I was trying to figure out what barracks he stayed in at Ft. Chaffee, Ar. I didnt find the answer to the barracks question but at least now I know who said a praise that I've been known to say from time to time.

I know this had nothing whatsoever to do with motorcycling. Unless we take into consideration that Elvis was an avid motorcycle rider and lover of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Did you know that Duane Allman was killed on October 29th, 1971 in a motorcycle accident. Whats really strange is that 13 months later the Allman Brothers Band bassist Berry Oakley was killed in a motorcycle accident just three blocks from where Duane was killed.

Just thought I would throw that little tibbit in there.

MM 3 Pictures

Just various pictures from MM 3.

This is an 1954 Harley Davidson KR racing bike.

Some immaculate Honda mini bikes.

I know this is an old Army bike but is it an HD 45? I think it is.

Looks like a Briggs and Stratton.

The Booze Fighters MC partly host the event and pull security.

There are other clubs that show up. At MM 3 I saw The Banditos, Thunder Heads and the Blue Knights.

Some people just really enjoy getting their picture taken.

Jim Dandy

I took a few pics of Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas but they dont do the band justice. I've always been a fan of BOA and I was not disappointed with their performance. They did a great job, fantastic. The music sounded just like it does on the CD's and he was not lip syncing. He still has it in him to put on a good show. It would probably be a little more pleasing to the eye if he were to wear some looser pants. Those baseball pants of his should of been tossed away several years ago.
